The Team Sudar Epic Road Trip Begins

We woke on Friday, June 13th with the intention of leaving at 7 am. At 8 am we backed out of the driveway and we were on our way!

Team Sudar selfie to capture the beginning of the trip. Keaton is with us he's sitting behind me.
Robert made a cool felt map with a little felt backed Honda Odyssey so that we could show the kids what state we were in. As we crossed into Wyoming I moved the minivan into Wyoming and showed them the map.

Robert's awesome map that helped show the kids where we were as we traveled
Not long after we crossed the border we made our first pit stop. We went to the bathroom then I fed Keaton while Robert started what would become a tradition - he did calisthenics with the kids. He needed to stretch and the kids loved it because they were moving around and getting their wiggles out with their daddy. We turned on a movie for the kids and spent another couple of hours driving through Wyoming and then stopped at a rest stop to eat lunch. Robert had packed us sandwiches and the kids were excited to have a picnic. We stopped again just inside Idaho to go to the bathroom and feed Keaton. And almost 12 hours later we found ourselves at Robert's Uncle Tom & Aunt Jetta's house in Idaho falls. They had a wonderful lasagne dinner waiting for us and then we hit the hay.

Saturday morning we got up and went to check out the local farmer's market. It was a little chilly but we still had a good time walking around and seeing what everybody was selling, we even bought some dog treats to take home to Gus as his 8th birthday was going to occur while we were gone and the kids wanted to get him a present. We stopped at a little Mexican restaurant for lunch and then headed to check out THE Idaho Falls. The kids thought it was so cool to see waterfalls. We went back home for naps, hanging out and another great dinner.

The next day was Father's Day. Aunt Jetta made these awesome belgian waffles with peanut butter and toffee chips, the guys opened cards and the kids gave Robert a CSU polo shirt. We left late morning and headed to Missoula, Montana. We stopped and had another picnic along the way, Emerson "Another picnic? Awesome!" We arrived in Missoula, checked into our hotel room and then headed to dinner. One of our best friends Corrie went to college in Missoula and had recommended MacKenzie River Pizza. The pizza was delicious and it was the perfect place to have Robert's Father's Day feast. And we ordered extra pizza so we could eat the leftovers when we stopped for lunch the next day.

Photo: Happy Father's Day Robert! Thank you for giving me three precious gifts. I love seeing you with Emerson, Reese and Keaton. They're going to have such wonderful memories of their dad. And for being willing to embark on this crazy adventure with me. I love you more than words! #vancation
Happy Father's Day Daddy!
Missoula was so pretty and once we got there we wished that we had more time to explore and enjoy so we'll definitely go back and visit again another time.
